I happened to find this top 10 list from Q Magazine — I actually agree with most of it. I like that it mixes old with new, raggae with hip hop with rock and roll and seems to be balanced. Although, as much as metal drummer should get props, not quite sure that Joey Jordinson is a better drummer than John Bonham. Just sayin’. I will agree with Stewart Copeland being on the list (sometimes I feel he gets overlooked for being in such a popular pop band, but The Police were far more than just a pop band (at least to me!) in the 80s–but that’s a whole other blog topic) and I most definitely agree that Keith Moon is number 1. Duh. He completely revolutionized drumming for a generation. Drum God!!
So overall, interesting list. I swear when I get more time–I will create lists of my own–STAY TUNED!
